A shower you can walk straight into, finished in three days — and nobody comes to your home until you've said yes. Your old tub leaves the house rather than getting covered over. The wall opens, the drain is replaced, and the substrate is waterproofed before a single panel goes back on. That is what the third day buys you.
A tub-to-shower conversion done properly takes three days because of what happens on day one. The tub comes out. The wall opens. The drain line changes from 1½ inch to 2 inch. The substrate gets waterproofed before a single panel goes back on.
A one-day installation skips all of that. The acrylic goes over what is already there. It looks finished the same evening. Whatever was behind your old tub is still behind your new shower.
That isn't a scandal. For some bathrooms it is genuinely fine, and it costs less. But you should know which one you are buying, and the quote will not tell you.
Our systems are standardized, so we do not need to stand in your bathroom to price them. Six photos is enough. You get a real number the same day — not a range, not an estimate, and not a salesman in your living room at seven in the evening.
Most companies will not tell you this, because on a one-day install most of it never happens.
Most people are too polite to ask this, so here it is without being asked.
No discount for signing tonight, because there was never a higher number to discount from.
Prices include labour, materials, disposal, permit and cleanup. Confirmed in writing before any work begins. Licensed plumbing performed by an Ontario-licensed plumber.
Roughly a third of the time we recommend the $8,900 package to someone who called us about the $16,900 one. About one family in ten we tell to wait and spend nothing at all yet.
A company willing to talk you down is the only kind you should believe when it talks you up.
This is the objection nobody in our trade takes seriously, and it is the one that actually stops people. It is almost never the money. It is what a chrome bar says about you every time you walk past it.
Most people tell us the first shower feels strange — because nothing about it requires thinking.
Every job is photographed at demolition, at waterproofing, and at completion. You get all three, whether you ask or not.
I'm Tatios Kechicha. Twenty years as an electrical engineer running industrial installation, commissioning and maintenance — work where a bad detail behind a wall has consequences you cannot paint over. My P.Eng. application is in progress with Professional Engineers Ontario.
There is no showroom here, no sales team and no television budget. That is why the price is what it is, and it is why the person who quotes your bathroom is the person standing in it three days later.
Not a rotating crew, not a subcontractor you have never heard of. You get their photographs and first names before the first morning, so you know who is knocking.
If you want a fully tiled custom shower with a bench cut into the wall and a mosaic floor, we are not your best option. That is a different trade done properly by tile setters, and we will happily tell you who to call in London.
If your bathroom is smaller than roughly 5 by 7 feet, a conversion may not gain you much usable space. We will say so before you spend anything.
And if the tub is structurally fine and you simply want it looking newer, a refinisher will do that for a fifth of what we charge. It is a real option and it is often the right one.
Stand in the doorway and take one wide shot of each: the bathroom, the tub straight on, the shower wall, the opposite wall with the door, the floor, and the ceiling above the tub. Phone quality is fine.
